Today’s word prompt is journey. Write a poem about anything that word evokes for you, from the excitement of a trip you’re about to embark on, the mental progress you witnessed someone make, or the struggles, pleasures, and extreme emotions that travel can bring about. Today’s form: limerick
I decided to base my limerick today on the journey of self love. It was fun to do and I think, quite effective.
There was a young girl from Bexhill
Whose awkward looks didn’t exactly kill
But one day she grew up
Like a wee doggy pup
Now her attitude is decidedly chill
I was not a beauty queen growing up and I’m not one now, but I’ve grown into a certain way of thinking about myself.
Though none of it really matters when you’re as talented as I am with the old poetry. I must say, I am enjoying this course so far. See you tomorrow with the next assignment.
